Clifford Chance advises Kingspan on the acquisition of the construction elements group of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe

Clifford Chance advised Kingspan, Kingscourt (Ireland), on the acquisition of the Construction Group of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe. The transaction is subject to the approval from the supervisory bodies and the competent antitrust authorities.

The Kingspan-Group manufactures high performance insulation and building envelope systems and has 6,000 employees at 50 production sites worldwide. In the business year of 2011 it achieved a turnover of approximately EUR 1.5 billion.

The Construction Group of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe is one of Europe’s biggest suppliers of lightweight steel construction elements for use in the walls, facades, roofs and floors of industrial buildings and in cold room construction. In the business year of 2011/12 it achieved a turnover of about EUR 315 million and employed 780 employees at seven plants in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium and Hungary and several international sales companies.

Die internationale Anwaltssozietät Clifford Chance hat Kingspan, Kingscourt (Irland), beim Erwerb der Bauelemente-Gruppe von ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe beraten. Die Transaktion steht unter Vorbehalt der Zustimmung durch die Aufsichtsgremien sowie die zuständigen Kartellbehörden.

Die Kingspan-Gruppe produziert Bauelemente und Isolier-materialien und ist weltweit mit 6.000 Mitarbeitern an 50 Produktionsstandorten vertreten. Sie erzielte im Geschäftsjahr 2011 einen Umsatz von rund 1,5 Milliarden Euro.

Die Bauelemente-Gruppe von ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe ist europaweit einer der größten Anbieter von Stahl-Leichtbauelementen für den Einsatz in Wand, Fassade, Dach und Decke von industriell genutzten Gebäuden sowie im Kühlraumbau. Sie erzielte im Geschäftsjahr 2011/12 einen Umsatz von rund 315 Millionen Euro und beschäftigt 780 Mitarbeiter in sieben Werken in Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Belgien und Ungarn sowie in internationalen Vertriebsgesellschaften.
