Daniela Weber-Rey named "Knight of the Legion of Honour" (Chevalier dans l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur)

Partner Daniela Weber-Rey has been awarded the prestigious title "Knight of the Legion of Honour" (Chevalier dans l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur) by a decree signed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy in recognition of her outstanding work. Daniela was named a "Chevalier" in the Legion of Honour, France's highest civilian award, as a mark of gratitude and appreciation of her work and longstanding contribution to Franco-German relations and the positive effect on enhanced pan-European relations.

In offering his congratulations to Daniela Weber-Rey, Dr. Andreas Dietzel, Managing Partner of Clifford Chance Germany, emphasised the fact that "this award is a tribute to Daniela Weber-Rey's immense contribution to deepening friendship between the two countries. She has strong ties to both France and Germany and she possesses an innate and almost unique understanding of the mindset and nature of the two nations. He was thus also delighted that French Professor Alfred Grosser, holder of the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade and a Grand Officier de la Légion d'Honneur, bestowed the insignia of the Legion of Honour on Daniela and to pay tribute to her
accomplishments in a speech at the award ceremony in Frankfurt."
