Firm's expertise in Transport Finance honored by Jane's Transport Finance Awards

A number of the deals Clifford Chance advised on were recognised by Jane's Transport Finance Awards 2010.

■ ‘Aircraft Capital Markets Deal of the Year’ – Credit Agricole and Goldman Sachs on the first ECGD guaranteed aircraft bond to refinance the acquisition of two A330 aircraft for AerCap
■ ‘Aircraft Debt Deal of the Year, North America’ – ILFC US$7 billion financing
■ ‘Aircraft Debt Deal of the Year,  Asia’ – BNPP for the ECA supported financing of 16 A320 aircraft for AirAsia
■ ‘Aircraft Debt Deal of the Year, Africa’ – Citi as sole mandated lead arranger on all financing aspects of the acquisition by Ethiopian Airlines of 5 B777-200 aircraft including a commercial loan, a PDP facility and a US Ex-Im supported financing
■ ‘Aircraft Leasing Deal of  the Year, South America’ – Banco Santander on the first ECA backed cross-border SOL for TAM
■ ‘PPP Finance Law’ – Clifford Chance for the St Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport PPP

We were also involved in deals that led to awards for our clients:

■  ‘Aircraft Leasing Innovator of the Year’ – Santander for the European ECA supported SOL of 3 A319 aircraft for TAM; the SOL financing of 6 ERJ-195 aircraft for Azul which was the first to be combined with debt from BNDES; and the financing of three ATR 72-500 aircraft for Trip
■ ‘Aircraft Finance House of the Year’ – Credit Agricole for the ECGD guaranteed aircraft bond for AerCap and the first institutional term loan B for a European lessor AWAS
■ ‘Aircraft Capital Markets House of the Year’ – Goldman Sachs for the ECGD guaranteed aircraft bond for AerCap
■ ‘Aircraft Finance Innovator of the Year’ – BNPP for the ECA supported financing of 16 A320 aircraft for AirAsia; as debt arranger for the SOL for TAM (arranged by Santander)
