Clifford Chance won the Financial Regulation Team of the Year at the Financial News Awards for Legal Excellence 2013. The award follows the Firm's recognition as recipient of the inaugural Financial Regulatory Team of the Year at the IFLR Europe Awards 2013, and provides further recognition of the first class work by Clifford Chance regulatory teams across Europe in helping clients to adjust to the sea of change facing the financial sector. Financial News said: "Clifford Chance is at the absolute forefront of financial services regulation and ramped up its international footprint in 2012 with the formation of a new US Financial Services Regulatory Group." The Financial News awards are unique as the winners are decided by an independent panel of industry practitioners across the finance and capital markets industry.

Clifford Chance Moscow advised on four out of five transactions nominated for the 'Deal of the Year' at CRE Awards 2013. The prize was ultimately awarded to Clifford Chance for the White Square Office Centre transaction which at the present time is considered to be the largest single asset office real estate investment deal ever completed in the Russian market.

The Firm won the inaugural Financial Regulation Team of the Year trophy for work on the various permutations of the European stability mechanisms. The Firm also secured the Debt and Equity-linked Team of the Year award and a number of Deals of the Year, including: Debt and Equity-linked Deal of the Year (Greek PSI) Equity Deal of the Year (Megafon IPO) Restructuring Deal of the Year (Seat Pagine Gialle). The Debt and Equity-linked award recognises the Firm's work on Barclays’ Tier 2 convertible bonds, the Greek PSI, Turkey’s US$1.5 billion sukuk, and Volkswagen's convertible notes.
