Accelerate>>> and Clifford Chance Pro Bono support London Black Women's Project with a £30,000 grant

The coronavirus crisis and ongoing lockdown has disproportionately negative consequences for survivors of abuse, and one of our long standing pro bono partners London Black Women's Project (LBWP) has seen this with the women they seek to support.

Many of these women are now faced with having to follow government guidelines to isolate, while living with their abusers. At the same time, these women have less access to community support and support services offered by LBWP, and other similar organisations. To this end, our gender parity network Accelerate>>> is teaming up with our Pro Bono team to provide LBWP with a £30,000 grant.

The grant will help to ensure that LBWP can remain above water and continue to support women in need, to the extent possible, during the current crisis, whilst the need for their services is greater than ever. Additionally, and crucially, it will help to ensure that LBWP remains a sustainable organisation, capable of providing its vital services, once the lockdown measures are lifted.
