I am involved in leveraged / acquisition finance primarily in Clifford Chance, Singapore, and asset finance whilst I was in Clifford Chance, London.
The team I work with are highly motivated and hard working as it is a smaller team relative to other Clifford Chance offices. The working environment is great and I get a chance to work on high profile cross-border transactions. Being a small team of lawyers, associates are given a higher degree of responsibility on transactions.
The location of Singapore makes it a springboard for travelling around Asia; a cosmopolitan population with a large expatriate community and great food! The proximity to India helps with meeting Indian clients and working on Indian transactions. Last year, about 70% of the transactions in the Singapore office had an Indian element.
I chose Clifford Chance because of the international scope, quality of work and the opportunity to work in different offices across the globe.
I joined Clifford Chance in February 2003.
