Clifford Chance has one of the most recognised and experienced foreign legal practices specialising in India related work. We have advised Indian and foreign companies and lenders on a wide range of corporate, securities, banking, dispute resolution and other matters involving India for over half a century. We also advise a number of our Indian clients on transactions outside of India.

We are a multi-jurisdictional group committed to the development of our India practice in cooperation with the Indian bar and law firms. Members of our India Group are based in a number of different locations including London, Hong Kong, New York, Singapore and Dubai.
The key strengths of our Indian practice are its extensive experience, committed team and deep knowledge of the legal and business environment in India - a number of our senior lawyers individually have more than a decade of Indian experience and have spent long periods of time working on the ground in India.
We are frequently invited to speak at seminars in India covering a wide range of topics including Arbitration, Energy and Infrastructure, Acquisition Finance, privatisation, M&A, international bond offerings and initial public offerings.
Local regulations currently do not permit us to have an office in India or to advise on Indian law. However, we work closely with a number of leading Indian law firms so as to ensure that clients receive the best advice.
