The Draft Energy Bill

The UK Government has published an early draft of its Energy Bill and in doing so has sent a message to industry that it intends to introduce its energy market reforms, first announced nearly eighteen months ago, on time. However, whilst the Government is working hard to stick to its timetable to implement the reforms, considerable hurdles remain and key aspects of the most critical measures remain unknown. In this briefing, we set out an overview of the key elements of the draft Energy Bill and describe the next steps for the implementation of the energy market reforms.
