Clifford Chance London receives major pro bono award - 19 June 2008
Clifford Chance London's pro bono lawyer Tom Dunn and FreeLaw advisors Jodi Griffiths and Naheeda Noormohamed collected the award for 'Best Contribution by a City Law Firm' at the recent LawWorks Awards Ball, held at Inner Temple Hall on Thursday, 19 June.
Clifford Chance has provided a voluntary social welfare legal advice service through the FreeLaw scheme since 1999. Today, the FreeLaw scheme encompasses four weekly clinics and 217 volunteers ranging from trainees to partners and drawn from across the Firm's practice areas. The scheme is run in conjunction with lawyers from two client companies (Citi and Barclays) and law students from London's Queen Mary College and the LSE.
Clifford Chance wins 'Power in Partnership Big Tick' - 29 May 2008
Clifford Chance has been recognised with the Power in Partnership Big Tick in the 2008 Business in the Community (BITC) awards 2008 for impact on society. This year's theme is best practice in finding and nurturing the talents essential for every organisation.
With KMPG and Morgan Stanley, we entered our Partnership for Schools programme. Launched in 2000, the programme is a unique education outreach initiative developed by Clare College, Cambridge with the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham. The three corporates provide funding, strategic programme input and practical support, including business mentors, for the local students.
Clifford Chance's first recruit from the programme, Anton Chambers, begins training with us in August!
Clifford Chance wins Graduate Employer of Choice for Law 2008 - 16 April 2008
Clifford Chance has been voted Employer of Choice for Law for 2008 in The Times Graduate Recruitment Awards 2008.
Clifford Chance has been voted Employer of Choice for Law for 2008 in The Times Graduate Recruitment Awards 2008. The award is identified from face-to-face interviews with over 15,000 final year students during February 2008. Students who had applied for jobs in the legal sector were asked who they most wanted to work for and their answers were entirely unprompted.
This award follows recognition for Clifford Chance as one of the Top 50 Places Where Women Want to Work in The Times, and as the only law firm to be listed in the Top 30 Places to Work in the Here is the City survey.

Clifford Chance receives "Best In-Kind Support" award from Young Enterprise - 11 April 2008
Clifford Chance received the award for 'Best In-Kind Support' by Young Enterprise, the UK's leading business and enterprise education charity. We have supported Young Enterprise since 2006 and hosted many events for the London regional organisation during 2007. Clifford Chance offers many local charities and other not-for-profit organisations free use of its facilities for seminars and conferences. At least one charity a week visits us at 10 Upper Bank Street - in 2007 we hosted over 180 charitable events.

"Here is the City" is a website for people working in investment banks and hedge funds and has around 100,000 email subscribers. Voting was cast by anyone who had a professional services or financial markets e-mail address.
Our "Best Place to Work in London" award follows a recent success in last October's Times poll of "Where Women Want to Work", where the Firm was one of only three law firms to be included in the top 50 workplaces. Results were based on a range of criteria that showed how committed an organisation is to its employees, in particular its female workforce.
