A new type of European fund is expected to come into force in mid-2015, targeted at institutional and retail investors seeking long-term investments in illiquid assets such as infrastructure projects.
The European Long-Term Investment Fund Regulation is one of a series of measures proposed by the European Commission to boost growth in Europe and to increase the amount of non-bank funding available to companies investing in the real economy.
