'In the zone': China introduces Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Rules in Shanghai
17 July 2014
The Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (SHIAC) has introduced a new set of arbitration rules for disputes related to the Shanghai free trade zone. These are the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Arbitration Rules, which came into effect on 1 May 2014.
The Rules are interesting as they are more extensive than SHIAC's own general arbitration rules or those, for instance, from China International and Economic Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), as they address pre-arbitration relief, interim measures and emergency arbitrators.
