Kate Gibbons
Experience and career history
Kate Gibbons specialises in banking and trustee and other fiduciary related securities work including securitisations and restructurings.
Kate built up her extensive experience in Banking (Acquisition Financing, Structured Debt and Real Estate Finance) whilst in London and Hong Kong where she headed the Hong Kong Banking practice. Since her return to the London Capital Markets practice in 1999, Kate has worked principally for trustee clients in relation to securitisations, structured financings and restructurings. In 2002, Kate was made responsible for Knowledge, Information and Client Education for Finance and Capital Markets and since 2012 has been chair of the Firm's Knowledge Committee and Thought Leadership Board as well as a member of the Global Legal Opinions Committee and the London Legal Opinions Committee. She has sat on City of London Law Society working groups relating to security and legal opinions and Financial Markets Law Committee working groups relating to the reform of taking security, security registration, the Pensions Act and Trustees and Trust mechanisms.
Published work includes Chapter 5 of Company Charges: Spectrum and Beyond for the OUP and "A Conversation with Lord Hoffmann" and "A Conversation with Dame Elizabeth Gloster", both for the Law and Financial Markets Review.
