Alastair Mordaunt
Experience and career history
Alastair Mordaunt specialises in EU and UK competition law, in particular mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution and licensing arrangements, cartels and abuses of market power across a wide range of industry sectors.
Alastair joined the firm from the UK's Office of Fair Trading where he held a number of senior positions, including Director of a dedicated competition enforcement team and previously Director of Mergers, where he was responsible for leading on some of the most high profile cases of recent years. These have included the Lloyds/HBOS and Co-op/Somerfield mergers; and the antitrust investigations into data exchange in the motor insurance sector, and into the on-line hotel booking sector.
Before joining the OFT, Alastair spent several years in private practice advising on merger and antitrust matters before the UK, EU and US antitrust authorities.
