Experience and career history
Extensive experience in corporate cross-border M&A and capital markets. Has been active in advising prominent Chinese companies on their outbound investments and overseas listing activities.
Experience includes advising Aluminum Corporation of China ("Chinalco") on its US$19.5 billion strategic partnership with the Rio Tinto group, the largest outbound investment ever undertaken by a Chinese company; advising Aluminum Corporation of China on the acquisition by its wholly owned subsidiary, Shining Prospect Pte Ltd, of c.12% of Rio Tinto plc ("M&A Deal of the Year" 2008, Asian Legal Business); and advising China Oilfield Services Ltd (COSL) on its US$2.5 billion recommended tender offer for Oslo-listed company Awilco Offshore ASA, the first major cross-border transaction by an A and H-share PRC company ("Energy & Resources Deal of the Year" 2008, Asian Legal Business).
Recently led the Clifford Chance team advising China Minsheng Bank and Longyuan Power Group, the biggest wind power generation company in China, on their Hong Kong listing, the biggest Hong Kong IPO and the biggest energy company global IPO respectively in 2009.
