Experience and career history

Thierry Blockerye's tax practice has a strong focus on real estate and taxation issues of mergers & acquisitions.  His clients include local and international real estate developers and investors, Belgian real estate investment trusts, private equity funds or ventures.  Thierry deals with corporate income tax, personal tax, VAT, international tax, fund structuring and obtaining tax rulings aimed at reducing transfer tax or at optimising VAT treatment, supported by his excellent relationships with the tax authorities.

Thierry is a speaker at various seminars and conferences dealing with tax optimisation of M&A transactions.

  • Cobepa, Benjamin de Rotschild and Be Citizen on the incorporation and funding of BeCapital, a luxembourg equity fund specialised in cleal Tech acquisitions;
  • Eurostar International Ltd, with respect to the contribution by SNCB/NMBS of its Eurostar assets;
  • Evans Randall in relation to the EUR 240 million acquisition of the shares in Covent Garden Real Estate SA.
