Experience and career history

David Yeres concentrates principally on derivative transaction law matters. In his over 25 years of practice, he has provided legal and regulatory advice on the development and operation of various financial products and markets, including electronic markets, that involve derivative transactions, securities, foreign exchange and commodities, as well as on the resolution of related disputes. He is a former legal adviser to the United States Attorney General and a former Assistant United States Attorney. Mr Yeres was also counsel to the Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the federal regulatory agency for commodity futures and options trading, and served on the Commission's Financial Products Advisory Committee. Mr Yeres has been Co-Chairman of the American Bar Association Subcommittee on Off Exchange Commodity Transactions and a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association Committee Business Law Section and is past Chairman of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Futures Regulation. In addition to regularly lecturing and writing in the derivative product law area, Mr Yeres has been a member of the adjunct faculty at Fordham Law School.
