Alan Christenfeld
Experience and career history
Alan Christenfeld focuses on sophisticated loan transactions, structured financings, loan portfolio arrangements and workouts. He represents lenders, borrowers and other parties in complex syndicated and bilateral financing transactions, including asset-based and commercial finance credits, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations, debtor-in-possession loans, Chapter 11 plan financings, letters of credit, sports franchise credits, cross-border financings and venture capital, as well as related “equity kicker” and intercreditor arrangements. He regularly represents investment and commercial banks, securitization vehicles, asset managers, investors and broker-dealers in trades of distressed and par-value commercial debt. In addition, he frequently advises parties working out distressed credits, both in and out of bankruptcy. He is a member of the American Bar Association and is a Fellow in the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers. In 1998, he completed a five-year term as Co-Chair of the ABA’s Ad Hoc Committee on Security Interests in Intellectual Property. He co-authors the New York Law Journal’s bi-monthly column on secured transactions, has published numerous other articles concerning creditors' rights and has taught on the faculty of the executive training programs of various financial institutions. He also serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Commercial Finance Association Education Foundation.
